The Biketober Passport Contest and One Day Challenge. Braving four-seasons weather, a whole lot of people have criss-crossed the city this month, visiting our lovely Passport Destinations and collecting digital stamps. 🚴♂️ The prize-giving was held on Saturday following the One Day Challenge, and here (apologies for the delay) are the results… ONE DAY CHALLENGE So, who managed to collect the full set of 38 Passport stamps in one day? Anna Tuck, Christopher Fairbairn, Donna Dent, Finn LeSueur, Greg Hewgill, Jeff Tuck, Jennifer Rouse, Lance Broyden, Locke Revels. Who bagged 37? Julie Mugford, Marianne Wilson. Congratulations to you all, plus all the other riders who weren’t all that far behind. Talk about a competitive (yet smiling) bunch! And who was the lucky winner of a brand-new Mountain Bike, courtesy of Action Bicycle Club? Finn LeSueur PASSPORT 20+ A large group of riders logged more than 20 Destinations. Great effort, folks! Anisa MacLean will soon be lining up a relaxing luxury weekend escape at North Canterbury’s Ribbonwood Country House. PASSPORT 5+ Obviously, an even larger cohort visited more than 5 Destinations. Great to see so many people give it a go. Nice one! John O’Brien went home from the prize-giving the proud owner of a new Sport Bike, and Jo Hedlund will be making space in her garage for a new E-bike. Thanks again to ABC for supplying the bikes. UP THE HILL As recognition for the riders who went up the hill to collect the stamp from Sign of the Takahe, another draw was created: Lance Broyden was the lucky winner of $100 UBS - University Bookshop Canterbury voucher. Plus, there was heaps and heaps of other prizes – from cookies and gelato, to teeshirts and meals, coffee and yoga sessions. That’s it for 2019.
