Christchurch – stuffy and conservative? Far from it! Radical educationalists, sex reformers, and peaceniks all have a proud place in our heritage.
This gentle ride explores places connected to some of these fascinating individuals. We will start by biking around the central city (beginning at Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre), then enjoy a beautiful ride through the traffic-free Avon-Otakaro Red Zone to Wainoni for a bike-side snack. The ride ends back in the central city, at Victoria Square.
Dr Rosemary Baird of Heritage NZ Pouhere Taonga will explain the history and significance of each stop. Special thanks to the Christchurch Heritage Festival for supporting Biketober to deliver this ride.
To ensure you get the best experience, places are limited to 12 riders. Book now!
