Spokes Tuesday Transport Seminar #1

A series of four presentations organised by Spokes Canterbury and Biketober to challenge and inform you about how we get around our cities.    🚴 🚦 🚴

A different topic will be covered each Tuesday evening during Biketober.

This week’s seminar is Taking It With You with speakers Emily Cambridge and Joan and David Hawke.  This will encompass two very different ways of travelling by bike with the necessities on board (see details below).

Gather to catch-up from 5pm with nibbles and a drink (cash bar) with the seminar starting at 5:30.

Touring the Country with Folding Bike Plus Luggage - David and Joan Hawke (5:30-6:15)
David and Joan share their idea of the perfect local holiday and give some tips about managing luggage on bikes.  David is a Spokes Core member and active in the Halswell Residents' Association and is passionate about creating safe and healthy urban streets.

The Wonderful World of Cargo Bikes - Emily Cambridge (6:30-7:15)
Emily will talk about all things cargo bikes including: a little history, origins, opportunities, recumbent models and her own experiences as a new cargo bike owner.  Emily is an Associate Landscape Architect at Beca and specialises in transformational cycling and walking projects around New Zealand.
