Climate Crisis Progress Ride

Guided by experts, we look at architecture, transport and environment and see how the climate crisis is being addressed by businesses, government and citizens, right here in Christchurch.

At each stop, an expert will describe how what we see is addressing our climate crisis today:

  • Dr Glen Koorey (transport engineer at Viastrada and local cycleways expert) will explain the Major Cycle Routes programme.
  • Ecologists Alice Shanks and John Hunt will explain the role of replanting native bush.
  • Mark Nixon (EV 2018 NZ champion of the year) and Dave Boot (owner of EV City) will discuss the role of electric vehicles.
  • Dr Mazhar Syed from Ara Architectural Studies will highlight Ara’s innovative sustainability architecture.

Discussions can continue over a drink at Bikes Beer and Banter at The Pegasus Arms after the ride.
