Spokes Canterbury brings you Sunday Cycles – guided rides along some of the city’s major cycle routes from the centre of town. Meet in Latimer Square from 12:30pm for a rollout at 1pm. Each ride will typically follow a major cycle route out of town, navigate across to another cycle route and then return to the city centre using that. We will not be on cycle routes all of the time, so you need to be confident cycling on roads with traffic. We will make the rides around 20-25 km in length. There will be a social catch-up at the end of the ride at Scoundrel, 375 St Asaph St.
This Sunday we will go west. We will be heading out of town on the Uni-cycle Puari ki Pū-taringa-motu cycle route and beyond into Avonhead, and then heading across Yaldhurst Rd to Hornby, returning to the City centre using the South Express Puari ki Niho-toto cycle route. The ride length is 26.2 km, but this could be shortened if needed by not going all the way to Kyle Park in Hornby.
If you’d rather join the ride somewhere along the route, we will have a GPS tracker published so you can see where we are.
