Pedalling for Palestine

Spokes Canterbury brings you Sunday Cycles – guided rides along some of the city’s major cycle routes from the centre of town. Meet in Latimer Square from 12:30pm for a rollout at 1pm. Each ride will typically follow a major cycle route  out of town, navigate across to another cycle route and then return to the city centre using that. We will not be on cycle routes all of the time, so you need to be confident cycling on roads with traffic. We will generally make the rides around 20-25km in length. There will be a social catch-up at the end of the ride at Scoundrel, 375 St Asaph St.

This Sunday the ride will be part of “Pedalling for Palestine”, out to the sea at Sumner.  We will be heading out of town on the Rapanui Shag Rock Puari ki Rapanui cycleway.  There will be a brief stop in Sumner at the far end of the esplanade, and for those that wish it,  we will guide a group back on a route that joins the Heathcote Express Puari ki Kahukura cycleway.  The trip out to Sumner is 13.9km and the return trip is 15.8km

Because this ride is a bit longer than other Sunday cycles, it will go straight to the social gathering at Scoundrel in St Aspah St.

If you’d rather join the ride somewhere along the route, we will have a GPS tracker published so you can see where we are.
